Code of Ethics Requirements
Training Requirements
REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within three-year cycles. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®. The current three-year cycle will end December 31, 2024. Members can check the status of their Code of Ethics training requirement through NAR’s website.
Training may be completed through your local REALTOR® association or through another method, such as classroom courses, or online courses. To take Code of Ethics training through NAR, please select one of the following:
COEN – Code of Ethics for New Members – New member training resources
COEC – Code of Ethics for Existing Members – Existing member training resources
If you take an Ethics CE course through RAFV between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2024, you will fulfill the NAR Code of Ethics Course requirement. If you have taken any Code of Ethics course through a provider other than RAFV, please forward us your transcript for the course so that we may record this with NAR.
If you need to fulfill the NAR Code of Ethics requirement before December 31, 2024, NAR offers various options. If an online course is completed through the NAR website, the transcript will be sent to RAFV automatically.
